Special Olympics 2015: New Theme Song Inspires Us to #ReachUp

All

We loved the Special Olympics 2015 song from Coca-Cola and here's why.

The Special Olympics and The Coca-Cola Company (founding partners of the Special Olympics) teamed up to provide the 2015 Special Olympics World Games with a new theme song, “Reach Up.” The foundation rallied musicians Mark Roberge of the band O.A.R and Cody Simpson to collaborate with Special Olympic medal-winner Breanna Bogucki and viral sensation, Madison Tevlin. Their song, “Reach Up” provides the atmosphere for the Special Olympics 2015, a positive and encouraging message of strength, growth and empowerment.

Stephen’s Place is proud to cheer on the athletes competing in the 2015 Special Olympics World Games. The Special Olympic organization shares our passion to provide adults with developmental disabilities opportunities to be seen and recognized as powerful and capable individuals.

In line with the lyrics of their new theme song, it is our hope to instill the same confidence in each and every one of the individuals in our care. We are building a culture that empowers and emboldens them to reach out and engage with their very big world. While they may not be competing on the Special Olympics world stage, through thoughtful programming and volunteer opportunities, our residents are encouraged to participate with and become contributing members of their community.

"So everyone reach up, put your hands together.

Don’t give up, climb forever.

With all you’ve got, just remember...

You make me feel like, I’m a contender.”
